Night vision technology can enhance your life in many ways either at home or in the outdoors. While it was first introduced for the military, this innovative technology has made its impact in various fields, including hunting and wildlife observation.
How does night vision goggles work?
By raising the light.
The pupils of night vision animals are larger than ordinary animals, and the so-called tapetum that reflects light is not like a mirror. Unlike it, humans must rely on technology and power to see through the darkness. Thus, we convert light into electrical energy, enhance it, and then re-convert the enhanced electrical energy into light!
Proceed as follows:
Light from the moon, stars or other sources enters the front lens. Light is composed of photons (particles of light) of all colors.
When photons enter, they hit a photosensitive surface called an optical waveguide. The photodiode converts photons into electrons.
The electrons are amplified by the photomultiplier tube. Every electron that enters the photomultiplier tube has more electrons leaving it.
The electrons leaving the photomultiplier tube hit the phosphor screen, producing tiny flashes.
Since the number of photons has increased from the number initially entering the night vision goggles, the original scene displayed on the screen is brighter.
