Night vision is the ability to see in low-light conditions, either naturally with scotopic vision or through a night-vision device.

At present, there are two main working principles of night vision devices that allow people to see what is ahead at night with extremely low visibility.

Image enhancement/ low night vison---This works by collecting the tiny amounts of light, including the lower portion of the infrared light spectrum, that are present but may be imperceptible to our eyes, and amplifying it to the point that we can easily observe the image.

Thermal imaging---This technology operates by capturing the upper portion of the infrared light spectrum, which is emitted as heat by objects instead of simply reflected as light. Hotter objects, such as warm bodies, emit more of this light than cooler objects like trees or buildings.

2. HNVG-31ND

HNVG-31ND is currently the lightest Helmet Night Vision Binocular. HNVG-31ND uses green or white phosphor coated tubes. It is currently the most widely used low-light-level night vision product in the Air Force pilot series. However, due to its lightweight product attributes and flexible product structure, it has been recognized by many high-end customers in the special field.

The unique design of 40° (t 2°) large field of view increases the user' s night observation range. It is an excellent choice for workers in special fields to work at night. The product adopts a non-infrared design and only depends on the image intensifier to control the ambient illuminance. The low light is converted into voltage to realize ultra-low illumination imaging. The advantage of this is that the user will not be discovered.

3. PVS-14 Night Vision Monocular

The PVS-14 Night Vision Monocular is the current military issue night vision goggle for the US armed forces. It is also the preferred choice of many foreign (NATO) forces. Produced by the hundreds of thousands, the 14 will continue to march on for many years to come.

Head or helmet mounted, the PVS-14 allows the user to retain their night adapted vision in one eye while viewing their surroundings through the illuminated eyepiece of the PVS-14. The new battery housing completes the perfect package by allowing the user to power off the unit when in an upright position and power on when flipped down.
